👉 Hint: It’s not about being the fittest in the room.

Most people think becoming a spin instructor starts with fitness.
It does not.
In fact, some of the best instructors I have ever trained were not the strongest riders when they started.
But they had something better.
And there is a good chance… you already do too.
1. Curiosity
Great instructors are not the ones who “know everything.”
They are the ones who keep asking:
How can I make this better?
How can I connect more?
What actually landed in that moment?
Curiosity is what turns a class into an experience.
2. Consistency
Not motivation.
Consistency.
Showing up again and again…
even when it feels off
even when it is not perfect
That is where confidence is built.
3. Coachability
This one matters more than people think.
The instructors who grow the fastest are the ones who:
listen to coaching tips
apply them
stay open instead of defensive
That is the difference between staying the same and actually improving.
4. Energy
Your energy matters.
Not in a “perform for the room” way…
in a “care about the people in front of you” way.
The best instructors use their energy to:
encourage
lead
and bring people with them
That is what people remember.
5. Courage
No one feels ready the first time they get on the mic.
Not once.
Courage is choosing to do it anyway.
6. Willingness
You do not need to be perfect.
You need to be willing.
Willing to try
Willing to learn
Willing to improve
That is where great instructors are built.
So if you are reading this and thinking…
“Wait… I actually have those things”
You are closer than you think.
