How To Set Up Your Bike For Your First Spin Class!

Updated: Apr 25

Spin class setup tips for better comfort, injury prevention, and riding performance.

Get ready to ride like a pro in your spin class! Here's a speedy guide to setting up your bike set up:

Seat Height: Hip-level is the way to go for optimal cycling performance! Make sure your seat is at a height that allows for a slight bend (15-20°) in your knee when it's extended, ensuring a comfortable and efficient ride.

Seat Distance: Get your knees in line for a stronger pedal stroke! When your feet are at 3 and 9 o'clock, the front of your kneecap (on your forward leg) should be directly above the ball of your foot, helping you maintain proper cycling form.

Handlebar Height: Find your comfort zone for indoor cycling success! Keep your handlebars at or slightly above seat height. If you have a lower back injury or are pregnant, consider raising them even higher for added support and comfort. This will help reduce strain on your back.

Handlebar Reach: Reach for comfort and cycling efficiency! Position your handlebars so your arms reach comfortably forward with a slight bend down in your elbows.

And that's it! Now, get ready to ride and remember, as long as you're moving your legs, you're part of that spin class!
